WHY STUMP GRINDING
A leftover stump can catch the mower, create a trip hazard, send up new growth, and keep part of the yard from being useful. Grinding takes it below grade without excavating the entire root system, leaving the space easier to replant, regrade, or use again.

A stump grinder removes the visible stump and root flare below grade, turning that material into chips. The larger roots remain underground and break down naturally over time. That’s normal, and in most cases it won’t interfere with what you want to do next as long as the grinding depth matches the plan.
Ground below grade to leave enough room for soil, seed, or sod over the former stump area.
Ground to a depth that works for shallow planting and everyday landscape use.
May require deeper grinding depending on what’s being built and what the site preparation or foundation plan calls for.
